A well-designed system is always making a decision: charge the battery from cheap overnight electricity, or leave room for tomorrow’s sun? Run the car now, or at three in the morning?
Scrub through the day. The routing changes because the right answer changes hour by hour — and that logic is what separates a designed system from four products on the same roof.

Tilos is deliberately small. Most consultations are carried out by Sebastian, its founder, and every system is designed by someone who will stand behind it — not passed to a salesperson working from a price list.
That is the standard as the team grows. Whoever surveys your property understands the engineering behind the recommendation, and can explain it in plain English.

Rural properties
The roof isn’t the only option.
Most installers quote a roof because a roof is what they fit. A property with land, outbuildings or an awkward elevation deserves the question asked properly.

The obvious place, when the roof suits it
A south-facing pitch with little shading is the simplest and usually the cheapest option. But a roof that is heavily shaded, structurally awkward, or visually prominent on a period property is not automatically the right answer just because it is the default one.

Savings should be modelled, not invented.
Your financial case is driven by system cost, generation, self-consumption, import tariff, export tariff, degradation and how energy use changes over time.

Do I need a battery?
Not always. It depends on your evening demand, tariff, export value, backup objectives and budget.
Can solar power a heat pump?
Yes, but winter solar output is lower. The design must account for seasonal mismatch rather than implying the heat pump will run free all year.
Will I be off-grid?
Most homes remain grid-connected. A well-sized system can reduce dependence significantly, but full off-grid operation requires a different design approach.
How long does installation take?
The on-site period varies with scope, roof access, electrical work and heating alterations. Your programme should be confirmed after survey.
Are savings guaranteed?
No. Generation models and tariff-based projections are estimates. Product ratings and contractual scope can be specified; household behaviour cannot.
What happens after installation?
You receive commissioning, system access, operating guidance, and the certification and warranty documents applicable to your project.
